Council elections

The highest decision-making authority of Loimu is exercised by the council, which consists of members elected through elections. The next elections will be held from October 8 to October 29, 2024.

Election Results

The election results will be published on Wednesday, October 30, 2024, after the election committee meeting.

The elections are conducted electronically, and the link to the voting system has been sent to members via email on October 8, 2024. Additionally, members have received reminders via text messages and email during the election period. You need secure bank identifiers for voting.

There are 65 active and enthusiastic candidates in the election, representing nine different electoral groups.

Candidates will introduce themselves in the Loimu magazine issue 4/2024 and in the voting advice application, which will be available no later than October 8, 2024.

Who can vote?

All student, senior, and regular members who have joined Loimu by July 31, 2024, are eligible to vote. You check your voting eligibility from OmaLoimu.

Any objections regarding voting eligibility must be submitted to Omaoimu no later than October 1, 2024.

Join in to influence the activities of your own professional organization. As a member of the council, you get to decide on Loimu’s strategy, operations, and finances, such as membership fees. Additionally, in the council, you can develop useful skills for the workplace, such as negotiation skills and decision-making abilities, as well as build networks.

All student members and regular members who have joined by July 31, 2024, are eligible to run as candidates. You can become a candidate either through an electoral association or an electoral alliance. The founding documents of electoral associations and electoral alliances, as well as candidate lists, must be submitted to the union via the online form no later than September 4, 2024.

Election Committee

Loimu’s elections are governed by Loimu’s rules and election regulations, as well as association law. The elections are overseen by an election committee, consisting of Peter Hackman, Helena Herttuainen (Chair), Laura Kammonen, Anna Monni, Hannele Ollilainen, Anna-Maria Rajala, and Merja Simonen. The secretary of the election committee is the organization manager, Johanna Hristov.
