Election results
The last voting day for the council elections was October 29, 2024. A total of 3,202 votes were cast during the election, resulting in a voter turnout of 19.5%.
The Loimu Election Committee confirmed the results of the council election in its meeting on October 30, 2024. The election selects 30 full members and 12 alternate members to the Loimu council for the upcoming 2025–2028 term using a proportional representation system. In this system, the total votes received by all candidates in an electoral group are summed, with the candidate who received the most votes in the group receiving a comparative index equal to the group’s total votes, the second candidate half of that, the third one-third, and so on.
Voter turnout 19,5 %
A total of 3,202 votes were cast in the election, resulting in a voter turnout of 19.5%. The turnout increased significantly from the previous election, which took place during the pandemic in 2020, when only 13% of members voted. A big thank you to all voters!
The most active voters were full members, with a turnout of 22%, followed by senior members at 21%. The turnout among students was 13%. The highest number of votes was cast in Lapland, Kanta-Häme, and Satakunta.
Of the electoral groups, Kipinä received the most votes, and among candidates, Maija Kuivalainen received the highest number of votes.
The electoral groups with the most votes were Kipinä (a total of 823 votes), Valtio (560 votes), and BYYGKIT (419 votes).
Among individual candidates, the highest number of personal votes went to Maija Kuivalainen (109 votes), Anna Mäkipää (104 votes), and Marjo Hippi (94 votes). You can find the vote counts for other candidates in the attached document above.
Council seat allocation
The seat allocation for electoral groups for the 2025–2028 council term is as follows.:
- Loimu Internationals – no elected representatives
- Loimuava vasemmisto – 3 main representatives, no deputies
- Kipinä – 8 main representatives, 4 deputies
- Loimun opiskelijat – 2 main representatives, 1 deputy
- BYYGKIT – 4 main representatives, 2 deputies
- Yksityinen sektori – 3 main representatives, 1 deputy
- Loimun metsä – 3 main representatives, 1 deputy
- Valtio – 6 main representatives, 2 deputies
- Kaikkien Loimu | Everybody’s Loimu – 1 main representative, 1 deputy
According to Loimu’s regulations, a person cannot simultaneously serve as a member of both the council and the board. If a council member is elected to the board, a new council member from the same electoral group will be appointed in order of comparative index. The new council will begin its term by participating in the final meeting of the 2021–2024 term, held in Helsinki on November 30, 2024, where all newly elected council members are invited to attend as observers.
The first meeting of the 2025–2028 term will be held in Helsinki on January 25, 2025. In this meeting, the council groups will organize and elect the new council’s presidium
