Akava and its affiliates, including Loimu, are implementing political industrial action, i.e. walkouts, on 6 February at 2 p.m. The walkouts will end at 4 p.m.
The walkouts are a political demonstration against the Finnish Government’s planned reforms, which will essentially weaken labour legislation in Finland. Read more about why we are taking action
The walkouts concern the employed Loimu members in the public and private sectors in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area (Helsinki, Espoo, Kauniainen and Vantaa), Tampere and Turku, except civil servants, to whom political expression is illegal, so they cannot participate in the walkouts. The measure also concerns the student members of the Akava affiliates in the abovementioned cities.
Loimu encourages its members to participate!
